Since March 2020, we’ve suspended in-person meetings and have been meeting virtually on a Slack channel and Zoom room. I’m hoping that our so-called leaders get their act together and take the actions that will get infection rates low enough that it’s safe to gather in groups again.

Risk factors seem to be: group size, duration of time together, mask-wearing, distance, good ventilation, and heavy breathing/talking. Unfortunately, in a JO group, mask-wearing is the only factor that’s really easy to control.

While some guys are meeting in person. I’m not comfortable with that, yet. Especially not with a big influx of students from high-infection areas, who have had time to spread COVID, but not enough time yet to judge the magnitude of the spread.

So for now, we continue to be virtual. (Though some guys are using our Slack community to arrange in-person one-on-one connections.)
